APD: Cop Recognizes Pedestrian, Arrests Him for Warrants

At 1:53 this morning, while in the middle of a traffic stop in the 4400 block of North 10th Street, Officer Joshua Ward was contacted by a male pedestrian that Officer Ward recognized. The pedestrian's brother was involved in the traffic stop. Officer Ward confirmed that the male pedestrian had 11 outstanding municipal warrants with a total fine of over $4,500 dollars and he was arrested for his warrants.

At 1:53 this morning, while assisting officers, Officer Carye Adkins contacted a male subject in the 4400 block of North 10th Street. During this contact, he smelled marijuana coming from the subject. His investigation revealed that the man was in possession of 24 grams of cocaine and a small quantity of marijuana. The man was in a drug-free zone and was arrested for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and for possession of marijuana.

At 4:15 this morning, Officer Chris Jennings was dispatched to a check-welfare call at a business in the 1300 block of South 14th Street. APD was notified that there was a female that was now passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle parked in the business' parking lot. Investigation revealed that the subject was intoxicated. The subject had no one to assist her in getting home. The subject was arrested for public intoxication.
