The driver of a yellow mustang that was ripped apart by an 18-wheeler on Monday has been released from the hospital and subsequently, Taylor County Jail.

Brandy Lynn Collins was arrested for second-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after she reportedly entered Interstate 20 going the wrong way just five days after her 36th birthday.

Merkel Police Chief Bill Wheat says they believe she intentionally entered the freeway going the wrong direction.

Miraculously, she was not injured and was released from Hendrick Medical Center the same day.

She was also charged with the misdemeanors of entry to controlled access highway at unapproved point, and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

She was released from the Taylor County Jail Tuesday on bonds totaling $10,280.

I am saddened by the morbid curiousity , this is the way th world is now . Instead of reaching a hand out to help someone or offering a smile , instead most choose to enjoy seeing other's pain . What a pathetic world we live in when nobody stops to think for one second before "liking" something as tragic as this before thinking , who was this person , did she really not get hurt , how is she ? Instead we choose to be judge and jury and enjoy other's pain , physical or other . Take a second and stop talking about one another and start doing for one another , not just to get noticed , but because it's good . Real goodness and kindness begins with the simplest of things . How terrible and tragic , yet such a miracle . And who are we to "like" someone else's pain ? I could never enjoy seeing another hurt , God bless those with tight lips and huge hearts.
