PINEVILLE, La. - The clock finally struck midnight on the 2011-12 season for McMurry University's women's basketball team, losing to host Louisiana College, 76-54, in the American Southwest Conference semi-finals.

The War Hawks ended the year with a mark of 19-8 and a second place finish in the ASC West Division.

McMurry scored first, but Louisiana College (24-3) - the No. 22-ranked team in NCAA Division III women's hoops - flexed its muscle early on. The Wildcats reeled off a 36-19 halftime lead and then out-scored the War Hawks by five in the second period to secure the win.

The War Hawks did a creditable job on defense, forcing LC into 28 turnovers on the night.  But, with neither team shooting particularly well from the field, McM couldn't make headway in its efforts to slice into the deficit.

Senior Celeste Belizario closed out her college career by leading McMurry in scoring with 12 points. Belizario was 5-of-9 from the field.

Sophomore Keshia Collins had 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. Collins also led either team with three assists and six steals.

Tory Salazar and Rikeita Thomas each added eight points. Salazar also snared 10 rebounds.  Bridget Dorn tallied seven points off of the War Hawks' bench.
