"My mother at a young age, she was raped and molested by a family member and then raped and molested again by a friend of the family," says Nichelle Wall.

Which is what made Wall want to help women who have been sexually abused, but in a unique way, dance therapy.

Wall explains, "It allows them to express themselves and not necessarily have to talk about it, but to get it out through the body. Which is how that form of abuse occurred."

Nichelle's mother knows this form of sensual fitness helps women who have been in situations like hers.

"This is great for women that's been abused or low self esteem because it helps you to build yourself," says Tara Wall.

Nichelle and her best friend, who has battled with her weight for years, teamed up to make it happen.

"So when my co-owner came to me with the idea of starting a dance studio I thought it would be a really good way for me to tell my story to other women who may be struggling," says Stephanie Humble.

In the midst of starting up a business and going to school, Nichelle faced several challenges.

"With us beginning S.H.E, my mom was also diagnosed with stage four breast cancer," says Nichelle.

She became a caretaker for her mother, but continued to press on, however,  another obstacle tried to get in her way.

"We finally found a building and we found the funding to do all the necessary repairs and we went on the day to actually sign off on the documentation and we had the building sold out from under us," Nichelle says, which caused the studio's doors to close, but not for long.

This year S.H.E Dance Studios reopened and has been prospering ever since.

"Our main goal was that we did not just want S.H.E studios to be a place where people come and get healthy physically, wanting them to be healthy mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, through fitness," says Nichelle.
