Across the country people are lining up, not for tickets to a concert or the big game, but for a pair of shoes.

The excitement over the latest "must have" sneaker is causing some real concern, and problems.

Those hoping to slip on a pair of Nike's newest athletic shoe are doing a lot of standing, sitting, and waiting.

The sneakers are the new $220, glow-in-the-dark, limited edition Foamposite Galaxies.

The hype over them has reached a boiling point.

Police were called in to one Florida mall when the crowds got a bit too rowdy early Friday morning.

There were no serious injuries and ultimately no arrests.

Several people were taken into custody last December when lines got out of hand at another Nike shoe release, and some parents warn the chaos doesn't end if you're one of the lucky one's to get a pair of the coveted shoes.

Lawrence Hopkins says someone attacked his son last week and stole his new Nikes.

"Once they are able to acquire the shoe, it seems that they have to watch their back," he says.

Right now it's police watching stores across the country as thousands line-up, hoping to walk away in a new pair of shoes.
