An entire community mourned.

The First Baptist Church in Cross Plains was filled to capacity as friends and family members gathered at the funeral service held for Shana Reed.

The expectant mother was killed in a traffic accident this past Friday.

Just blocks away from the service stands one of the places where she made have left the biggest impact.

"It's been an extremely difficult time," said Phil Mitchell, superintendent for Cross Plains ISD,"Both our students and our faculty came to school and i think we all knew how difficult it was going to be."

The 25 year-old was a Resource Teacher's Aid at Cross Plains High School during the past four years.

The 7-12 grade students there often visited reed for extra academic help.

"She was a teacher's aid, but yet she may have been our best teacher," said Mitchell.

The flags remain at half staff as students and faculty mourn the loss of the beloved teacher.  All agree that it was much too soon.

"She was always there, always working with students, everyone loved her," said Mitchell.

Even though class went on as usual, the hallways were especially quite today as everyone dealt with the tragedy that affected them all.
