APD: Trio Busted Smoking Pot While Parked in Alley

At 8:27 yesterday evening, Officers were dispatched to an armed subject call involving a possible gun. The call referenced a north side business, but then led officers to an involved vehicle in the 1000 block of Minda Street. Officer Brian Poynor assisted in contacting several subjects in the involved vehicle. During this contact a pair of knuckles were seen by Officer Poynor and investigation revealed that a male passenger possessed them. Further investigation revealed that the male passenger had an active warrant for theft. During this investigation, a female subject was contacted by Officer Andrew Valdez. Officer Valdez's investigation revealed that the female was in possession of several pills for which she did not have a prescription. The preliminary investigation revealed those pills to be a controlled substance and she was arrested for possession of a controlled substance; to wit Diazepam. The male subject was arrested for possession of a prohibited weapon and for his warrant.
At 12:39 this morning, Officer Chris Hall observed a vehicle parked in an alley in the 1900 block of South 16th Street. He contacted three males in the vehicle and detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Investigation revealed that the vehicle contained 11.1 grams of marijuana in containers, drug paraphernalia and remnants of marijuana use throughout the vehicle. One of the occupants also had two active traffic warrants for which he was arrested. All three males were arrested for possession of marijuana.
