Abilene Fiddle Group Going to Georgia

By: Marlisa Goldsmith
Updated: February 28, 2012
High school fiddlers in Abilene ISD will soon be on the move.

Orchestra students from Abilene High and Cooper who are in the fiddle group "Revolution" will travel to Atlanta, Georgia next month to perform in the Eclectic Strings Festival.

Orchestra Director Darcy Radcliffe says this is a great opportunity for the students on a number of levels:

"They get to realize there's other really fantastic string players out there that play the kind of music that they do, they get to hear some feedback from some really great judges and it also is an honor just because we got to be selected. We were chosen through an audition process."

Revolution still needs to raise thousands of dollars to get to Atlanta next month.
