Abilene Home Sales Picking up Steam

By: Marlisa Goldsmith
Updated: February 29, 2012
Home-buying in Abilene is gaining popularity in 2012.

In 2007-2008 there was quite a drop in the Abilene housing market because of what was going on with the economy, but now things appear to be on the rise.

Over the last year things have stabilized and the number of home sales has risen.

Local sales agents attribute the rise to the change in the economy as well as people gaining confidence in the housing market.

"It's just going to improve," says sales agent Don Klies. "I think that the scare season is over with and that people are going to start investing back in real estate. It's always been a good investment."

In comparison to 2011, sales in January were up for 2012 and sales agents predict the same will happen for the month of February.
