APD Working to Keep Thieves from Matera Rubble

By: Victor Sotelo
Updated: February 29, 2012
Abilene police are doing everything they can to keep thieves away from the Matera site that burned to the ground last Monday.

APD says the building's owner is working to secure the area with a fence line. Police say they're aware of the concern for trespassing and looting at the site, and want to remind the public that taking anything from the scene of this fire is a crime.

The cause of the Matera fire is still under investigation.
