Jury Hands Down Verdict in HIV Assault Trial

The man accused of spreading HIV to another woman in Abilene was found guilty of aggravated assault this morning.

The punishment phase is now underway.
 
Johnathan McCain is charged with aggravated assault after a woman who had sex with him says he lied to her about having the disease.

The victim, a mother of two, was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base when the incident took place in 2009.

She said she asked McCain at the time if he had been tested for HIV, and that he told her that he did get tested and was clean.
