Police said they got a call 20-year-old Ruben Soliz, who was wanted on a parole warrant, was at a home in the 1400 block of North 16th.
When APD got to the scene, officers said Soliz first hid on the roof, then barricaded himself inside on the second story of the house.
"I saw cop cars just going. They didn't have sirens on or anything. We go down to the end of the block, and I see cops in their trunks taking out shields, bulletproof vests, and assault rifles," said Shannise Walker, who lives in the neighborhood.
After a short standoff, police took Soliz into custody without incident.
He was booked into the Taylor County Jail Friday night. No bond has been set.
