ABILENE, Texas - McMurry University's track and field program will be sending a total of eight representatives - six men's and two women's - to the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships next Friday and Saturday (March 9-10) at Grinnell, Iowa.

In the final list of championship qualifiers released on Sunday, the War Hawk men had all six of their entrants ranked among the top-8 in their respective event's performance list.

Junior sprinter Kenneth Turner will be going for a second-consecutive All-American award in the 60 meter dash. Turner enters the 2012 championships with the No. 2 qualifying time of 6.81 seconds (a school record time).

Senior teammate Kevin Cunningham will be aiming for a third-consecutive all-American finish in the 400 meters, thanks to his qualifying time of 48.45 seconds (also the nation's second best performance in 2012).

In the 60-meter hurdles, freshman Junior Saint Preux will be making his first appearance in the national championships. Saint Preux set a McMurry school record with his qualifying time of 8.15 seconds.

The War Hawks' 4 x 400 meter relay quartet - consisting of Cunningham, Marcus Thompson, Willie Poindexter and Trevon Odom - posted the country's third best performance in a clocking of 3:16.94.

In field events, senior long jumper Gavan Bass will also be looking for a third-straight All-American award. Bass has the No. 8 qualifying effort of 23' 7 ".

In the shot put, sophomore Paul Davis set the McMurry school indoor shot record - and the nation's second-best heave - last weekend at the Arkansas Final Indoor Qualifier. Davis' mark was a sterling 59' 7 ".

On the women's side, both of the War Hawks' female entries came in the long jump.  Freshman Tiana Alexander was the No. 8 qualifier with a leap of 18' 10", while sophomore Shanita Coleman was No. 10 at 18' 7 ".
