The Abilene High Softball team is looking to get back to the playoffs for the first time since 2008. But In order to do that this team will have to do more than just practice well during the week, and head coach Shay Cox feels like her team is doing well transferring what they learn on the practice field to the game field.
"I've seen alot of excitement. alot of run production that we seem to have been missing the past couple of years," Cox said. "They're doing a good job of focousing in practice and taking what we are doing in practice and putting it into the games."
Eagle senior Shelby McMahon feels like this team is ready to compete.
"We're ready," she said. "We're more prepared than we have been before, in the past and I think we're ready, and our program this year is very strong."
Fellow Senior Kenziee Reeves feels like this team has a lot to offer and they are going in with high expectations.
"I think we have very very high expectations for this team, coaches and the players as well," she said. " We worked really hard over the summer and we're expecting to go far."
