Plea for Help

By: Jodi Hernandez
Updated: March 6, 2012
A morbidly obese Livermore, California man is seeking help in his quest to lose weight, and to stay alive to watch his niece and nephew grow up.

He has posted a video to YouTube, hoping it will go viral.

Robert Gibbs' 23rd birthday was March 2.

In his YouTube video, posted March 1, he explains that he's dieted before, but always gains it back.

"I feel like I'm trapped within myself and my body's working against me," he says.

"I've tried to do everything possible," he adds, including being hospitalized.

His main request is that his video be shared and re-posted as many times as possible in his quest for help.

Nutritionists, personal trainers and even Dr. Phil are called out in the video.

Gibbs says he had already received offerings of support.

A former "Biggest Loser" contestant reached out, as well as the Dr. Phil show.

He says he will be evaluating his options.
