Employment Issues Top Snyder ISD Agenda

By: Snyder Daily News
Updated: March 7, 2012
Snyder school trustees will hear Superintendent Dr. Randy Brown's recommendations concerning contracts for classroom teachers and other non-administrative professional personnel Thursday night.

Brown will present his recommendations during an executive session.

Under personnel matters, trustees also will consider new employees and consider the appointment, employment, evaluation or reassignment of duties of present employees.

The board also will consider:
  • Granting permission for the Snyder High School band to travel to Branson, Mo. in May. There will be no cost to the district.
  • Approve a contract for the district's 2011-12 audit with Terry & King at a cost not to exceed $21,000
  • Adopt a resolution suspending the district's policies on the provision of the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test that now calls for an end-of-course assessment to count as 15 percent of the final grade.
  • Clarify present rates of reimbursement for travel by district personnel.
Several informational items also will be discussed, including pre-kindergarten tuition, strategic planning, missed days waiver, and construction and renovation.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the SISD administrative building boardroom.
