Abilene Sales Tax Allocation Increases Once Again

Abilene has received an increase in sales and use tax allocation for March.

According to the Texas Comptroller's City Sales and Use Tax Comparison Summary Report, Abilene has received a net payment of $2.91 million, a 13.36 percent increase from the same month last year.

That represents a positive change of 23.01 percent for 2012 compared to 2011 thus far. In only the first three months of the year, Abilene has seen $11.34 million in allocation payments compared to $9.22 million last year.

The sales tax figures represent monthly sales made in January.
