TxDOT Continues Abilene, Taylor Co. Construction Projects

Below is a summary of planned construction and maintenance work to be performed on roadways in Abilene and surrounding areas for the next week. While TxDOT strives to inform the public about planned roadway restrictions and activities, circumstances beyond our control may occasionally cause schedule changes. TxDOT urges motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit signs and be alert for construction equipment and workers.
Abilene Area Office construction projects:
Abilene Area Office construction projects:
- FM 2833 (East Lake Road) reconstruction in Taylor County: Subgrade work on the west side of the road continues. No traffic changes are planned at this time.
- US 83/Antilley Road intersection project: Curb work is planned for the next two weeks.
- SH 70 resurfacing project in Nolan County is now complete.
- FM 89 reconstruction and widening project: Box culvert work will begin at Richey Creek about three miles west of US 277. Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the area.
- I-20 from Taylor/Callahan County line to Nolan County line: Repair base failures and pavement edges.
- FM 604: Blade patching and edge repair.
- US 83 north of I-20: Repair base failures and level-up.
- SH 351 north of I-20: Repair base failures and blade level-up.
- FM 3438: Silt removal.
