Brown Co. Republican Women Learn About Emergency Prep

By: Josh Berry
Updated: March 9, 2012
With political season picking up steam, a local Republican organization is taking a break to learn about emergency preparation.

The Brown County Republican Women held a meeting today at the Brownwood Country Club to listen to tips about preparing for an emergency from Brown County Emergency Management Coordinator Brent Bush.

"We felt like this was a very important subject, especially with this new delta system coming in, so that he can advise all of our ladies and get the word out as to exactly what's going on," says BCRW president Grace Hefner.

They learned about Brown County's new delt-alert system, which has the ability to notify county residents of severe weather and other emergencies en masse.
