Monday was the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts.

Troops from across the Big Country celebrated the big birthday on Monday night.

The group said the oath and recited the Girl Scout laws at 7:12 pm.

Troops all over Texas and Oklahoma did the same thing. The girls sang, danced and put on skits at Monday's gathering. They also talked about the future.

"She envisions lots more badges for things like, electronics. Things our world revolves more around than back in 1912, when Juliet founded Girl Scouts," said Rene Rose, a volunteer.

Afterwords, everyone had cake and cookies as part of the birthday celebration.
