A former Cisco City Council member will go to trial on charges he tried to meet a young girl for sex.

Robert Noriega was indicted today for online solicitation of a minor after being arrested in Abilene last September.

The Taylor County Sheriff's office says Noriega arranged to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old girl through emails and texts.

They say he promised to buy the girl a new cellphone, which he had with him when he was arrested.

An affidavit also showed that Noriega said he wanted to have sex with the 13-year-old's sister as well.
