But Saturday, one particular bake sale took on quite a different meaning for two women battling for their lives.
"Funds for Lungs" held their very own bake sale Saturday (3/17) afternoon.
Not only were some delicious baked goods up for grabs, but a number of vendors also participated in the event to help raise funds for the women.
One of the women is currently waiting for a double lung transplant and is being treated in Dallas-Ft. Worth, while the other woman is starting chemo treatment in Houston.
Funds raised are aimed to help the women and their family with out of pocket costs and traveling to receive their treatments.
If you or someone you know is interested in helping these women with their out of pocket expenses or making a donation, you can help Christina Kuper by looking up the facebook page "Funds For Lungs" and Amira St.James through the Communities of Abilene bank.
