According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 74 year-old David Benedict Lange of Rowena was killed Friday evening when the pickup truck he was driving collided with a large SUV driven by 51 year-old Rebecca Anne Ridge of Fort Worth.

The accident occurred at the intersection of US 67 and FM 2872 in the Runnels County community of Rowena about 5:30 p.m. Friday.

State troopers say Lange stopped at a stop sign on FM 2872, but pulled out in front of the Ford Excursion driven by Ridge, who was westbound on US 67.

Lange was taken to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, where he was pronounced dead. Ridge was taken to Shannon and was in good condition. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
