Volunteer Firefighter Arrested for Arson

A volunteer firefighter was arrested for arson after admitting to starting a fire at a church early Tuesday morning.

According to the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Taylor Dupree Partain of Abilene was arrested by Sheriff's investigators and charged with arson.

Partain, a lieutenant with the Hamby Volunteer Fire Department, admitted to starting a fire at approximately 1:03 this morning at the Hamby United Methodist Church, 128 County Road 503.

The fire caused damage to an outer wall of the wooden church.

According to the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, Partain is currently being held in the Taylor County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

This is the church that we attend. It is very sad that this had to happen. The church family will rally forward though.
