Two Western Texas College student-athletes have been arrested on felony burglary charges.

Hancell Guevera, 19, a freshman soccer player, and Alvin Smith, 18, a freshman member of the track team, were arrested at Clinton Hall just before 6 p.m. Tuesday on warrants for felony burglary in connection to a report of theft made at the college on Saturday.

Snyder Police Chief Terry Luecke said the case was initially investigated by WTC security, which turned the case over to the police on Monday.

The burglary occurred in one of the residence halls at the college, with electronic gaming systems being taken.

The property has not been recovered, but investigators have a lead on the location of the stolen goods.

Both men are awaiting arraignment and bond has not been set.
