Abilene Police Catch Suspected Roofing Scammer

A man who may be connected to a roofing scam is behind bars.

Police arrested 24-year-old Charles Doss on March 12 on several charges, including robbery and being a fugitive from justice.

According to an incident report, a local woman says she was scammed out of thousands of dollars when she gave over $5,000 to a local roofing company.

The woman claims after purchasing some materials, the roofers fled and refused to give her money back.
