SEGUIN, Texas - Just a few days after having its nine-game winning streak snapped, McMurry University's baseball team will be looking to resume its winning ways with an American Southwest Conference West Division series at Texas Lutheran University. The War Hawks (11-12, 6-0 ASC West) and Bulldogs (13-8, 4-2 ASC West) play a single game Friday at 2 p.m. and a Saturday doubleheader beginning at noon.

McMurry leads the ASC West, while TLU is tied for second (with Concordia-Texas).

After going 7-for-13 in last weekend sweep over Sul Ross State - and a 2-for-5 day in the divisional crossover loss to UT-Dallas on Tuesday - junior outfielder Dylan De Leon has had the hot bat of late for the War Hawks. DeLeon has raised his batting average to .398 on the year, tops among McMurry's everyday players. He has team-highs with 35 base hits and two triples this season.

Senior firstbaseman Matt Thompson is batting .377 and Nick Marsh is at .333. Thompson has a team-leading 23 runs scored.

The War Hawks will also be looking for their first win on an opponent's home field, going 0-6 in its previous attempts this year.

Saturday's twinbill will be carried live in the Abilene area on KZQQ 1560 AM.
