After today's development in the case of the remains discovered in Big Spring Tuesday afternoon, the attorney for Shawn Adkins is speaking out.

Adkins' attorney, Alex Eyssen released a statement this afternoon that reads in part:

"It is bittersweet to learn of the autopsy results stating that the remains have been identified as a male, thus excluding the possibility that the remains recently discovered in Big Spring are those of Hailey Dunn. First and foremost, it provides hope for the possible safe return of Hailey.

"Shawn wishes to extend prayers for this yet-identified individual and hopes that some family will find closure and peace.

"Shawn will continue to cooperate with law enforcement should the need arise in the future."
