Hailey Dunn's grandmother Connie Jones has been anxiously awaiting for the remains discovered in Big Spring Tuesday afternoon to be identified.

Jones says the news that those remains are a male and not Hailey gives her some renewed hope, but it doesn't make missing her any easier.

"I feel relieved that maybe there's hope that she's still out there and she's going to come home," Jones says. "And I feel that now somebody will get some closure."

Time hasn't helped her cope with missing Hailey either. "I still feel and always have felt like when I was first told that Hailey wasn't home. I feel lost," Jones says.

Volunteers have been working on a memorial for Hailey since yesterday afternoon. While we know that those remains are not Hailey Dunn's, the news this week has certainly renewed plenty of public interest in this case.
