Cowboys Tennis Team Snaps Skid

TYLER, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' men's tennis team snapped a four-match losing streak with an 8-1 win over Linfield College in non-conference action that was contested at the Texas-Tyler tennis facility on Sunday afternoon.

The Cowboys opened the match with an impressive 3-0 run through doubles play. Steven Stanley and Gavin Ybarra swept their match at No. 3 singles, 8-0.

HSU won five of the six singles matches in straight sets and no one lost more than two games in a set. Erich Bein, Sean Strehlow, Michael McCullough, Gavin Ybarra and Steven Stanley all earned singles wins.

The Cowboys are now 4-4 on the year and Linfield fell to 2-11. HSU will return to American Southwest Conference action on Thursday against Sul Ross State.
