Snyder Board to Consider Firm for AD Search

Updated: March 26, 2012
Snyder school trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Monday with representatives from Champions Search Firm concerning the process for hiring a new athletic director and head football coach.

The search firm has been highly visible in screening candidates for coaching jobs across Texas recently, including Denison ISD where former Snyder High School head coach Chad Rogers was named the athletic director and head football coach last week.

The firm will outline its plans for the district Monday. The process normally involves interviewing several candidates and then recommending three finalists to be interviewed by district administrators. Superintendent Dr. Randy Brown said that he, chief financial officer Dr. Randy Burks and SHS principal Trig Overbo will interview the three finalists.

Brown will make the final decision on who will be named the athletic director and coach.

"Our plans now are to cut off applications April 6 and our goal is to have someone here on board by April 30," said Brown.

In an action item, the board will consider for approval the proposal for a solar power project with Cadmos USA.

The meeting will be in the administration building boardroom following the open house at the SHS cafeteria that begins at 6 p.m.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours will be held during the event, which is open to the public.

Students returned from spring break last week and were able to use the state-of-the-art cafeteria.
