Man Injured After Driving Through Fence into Tree

Emergency responders were called to the scene of an accident near the
corner of Avenue D and 11th Street shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday
involving a vehicle that struck a tree.
Brownwood Police officers investigating the scene said the Ford Explorer was traveling southwest on Avenue D when the driver made a wide u-shaped turn and traveled through a fence and hit a tree. The extent of the driver's condition was unknown at the time of the accident, but he was transported to the emergency room for his injuries. Fire crews had to cut a piece of pipe which was stuck into the back passenger window to remove it.
