The Honeycomb Tree in downtown Abilene is one of several places that sell local honey to allergy sufferers.
They say it helps build up a resistance to allergens in our environment, similar to a vaccination.
Those seeking alternative medicine seem to see positive results.
"Bees when they pollinate of course they're taking in the allergens in the environment so what happens when we take a tablespoon of honey a day you're actually building up an immunity to those things you're allergic to," says Honeycomb Tree owner Diann Lunsford.
However, children 2 years and under should not use honey as an allery remedy.
