It's one of the most looked forward to events of the year for foodies and wine lovers across the Big Country. Restaurants from around Abilene gather under one roof to get you a wide ranging taste of the Key City.

Taste of Abilene has been going strong since 2006, growing larger each year. The event first took place in the Taylor County Expo center, but has expanded now into the Abilene Civic Center.

"It's hard to believe that now we've come this far," says Eric Johnson, representative from the Rotary Club of Abilene.

Each year, the Rotary Club teams up with the Abilene Restaurant Association to put on the famous Key City event.

"We have raised together, combined, over $100,000 to go back to, one, local charities and then two, the Restaurant Association gives to their scholarship programs for the T.S.T.C. Culinary School."

Heff's Burgers is one of the many Abilene restaurants taking part in Taste of Abilene this year. The burger joint will be showing off their delicious "fried pies."
