There is a slight chance of thunderstorms popping this evening mainly over the eastern portion of the Big Country as the Dryline which can be a good trigger mechanism for t-storm development has shifted further eastward than in previous days.

If any storms to develop they will have the chance to become severe with large hail and damaging winds. Don't count on the storms necessarily forming, how...ever, those of you east of Abilene and over towards Breckenridge, Eastland, Comanche, and Brownwood keep an eye to the sky just in case.

The other story this weekend will be the heat. Lots of sunshine is expected this weekend with highs each afternoon in the lower 90s. A cold front will pull through the area on Monday and temperatures as a result will be cooler through much of next week and mainly in the 70s! Have a great weekend!- Chief Meteorologist Mike Cole
