Local Author Debuts Book About Food Disorders

From Oprah to Abilene, one author visited the key city to offer advice on addiction.

Tennie McCarty was at books a million at the Mall of Abilene today to share her latest book Shades of Hope.

She's the co-founder of shades of hope treatment center in Buffalo Gap. 

McCarty brings over 32 years of professional and personal experience to the center which specializes in the treatment of food addictions. 

The Buffalo Gap native is a certified Addictions Specialist and liscenced counselor in Chemical Dependency. 

Along with being featured on the Oprah Winfrey network, shes appeared on the Dr. Oz show and Nightline among other programs to share her expertise.
