There was a series of vehicle break-in in the the South 11th and Marshall area of Abilene overnight, and what was taken from one of the vehicles is irreplaceable.

When Kellie Akins woke up and went behind her house to where she parks her truck, she noticed a necklace she had draped over her rear-view mirror was gone. Then she noticed seven more just like it also missing from her truck.

"I would like to have them back," said victim Kellie Akins.

When she called police she found out she was one of several people victimized in a series of vehicle burglaries in her area.

Akins said, "I am concerned that people think its going to be drugs and try to use that and be a danger to them, also, that's my father.

She now fears she will never see those necklaces again, but is even more afraid of what the burglars might do with them.

"They are in a silver bullet, and when you open it up, its glass vial with a lid and a powder substance," she said.

After the recent passing of her father, Akins had the necklaces made for members of her family.

Each necklace had a small glass vial inside that contained her father's ashes.

Akins says the necklaces are of value to no one else but her family, and she's pleading with the person or people that took them.

Police counted close to a dozen break-ins overnight.

Akins is asking for the people who took the necklaces to return them to her porch, the back of her truck or the police station, no questions asked.
