Doctor Diana Eck specializes in religious tolerance. She spoke about how the world's population has shifted from the country into cities and how that affects religion.
Monday's lecture focused on how several faiths other than Christianity have grown in U.S. cities.
"The city is really the focus of what we do in interfaith relations. This is where the challenges of the future are faced in urban studies, " said Dr. Eck.
Three more sessions happen on Tuesday at 11am, 2:30pm and 7:30pm in the Mabee Room at McMurry.
