Updated: April 3, 2012
An ACU student whose moped crashed with another vehicle Friday afternoon remains in critical condition today.

The accident happened around 3:15 Friday afternoon on Pine Street.

ACU graduate student Justin Gibson was flown to Parkland Hospital in Dallas after suffering major head trauma.

He is currently in a coma.

Gibson's family and friends have set up a CaringBridge.org account, which allows viewers to follow updated journal posts on Gibson's condition, and post well-wishes and prayers.

According to the latest post, Gibson's brain pressure is down, but doctors are considering surgery in the next couple of days.

We spoke with Gibson's girlfriend Melissa Mason earlier today, who says she is grateful for all of the supportive comments that have been posted on the site.

"Every prayer that's going up I read out loud to him, and I know that it's making a difference," Mason says. "So we are just so thankful that so many people are coming together and supporting us."

Gibson is an employee at the Chicken Express on East North Tenth Street.

After receiving the news, employees quickly put up a sign showing support for their coworker.

They say everyone is coming together to support him during this time.

"We are wishing him the best, we're wishing his girlfriend the best..everyone in his family," says coworker Lance Davis. "It's pretty moving to see everything on campus regarding Justin and all the well-wishes really."

Chicken Express says they are thinking about a possible fundraiser for Justin in the coming weeks.
