River of Life Church has Sunrise Service

By: Kristin Anderson
Updated: April 8, 2012
The River of Life Church was out celebrating Easter before the sun today.

The church held its annual sunrise service for Easter. They dodged the rain long enough for the congregation to gather, sing and pray as they watched the sun come up. It was a scene similar to that of Easter in the Bible.

"And think about, what would that have been like that morning, it's kind of dark and you're trying to find your way there. You get there right as the sun's about to come up and it's empty," said youth pastor Will Meiron. "It's a really unique way to connect with one of the stories from the Bible."

This is the second year in a row where clouds have hidden the sun during the early morning Easter service, but the congregation has hopes for a real sun rise next year.
