Higher Gas Prices Don't Deter Locals from Traveling

The price of fuel continues to go up, but its not stopping some from holiday travel plans.

The most expensive fuel right here in the key city is at three eighty nine for regular grade gas.

But the average state wide is a bit less.  Triple a has it at 3-83.That's nearly 20 cents higher than this time last year.

But Big Country travelers are keeping their heads high saying that although its been heavy on their wallets, its not going to slow them down.

"It was seventy five dollars for me to fill up on this car, it usually only ran $20-30 to fill it up so it went up a good $50.  It didn't hurt my travels too much because i go out of town once, maybe twice a month, so its  not too bad, its just in town, its hurting," said Abilene resident Carl Bloom.

The cheapest fuel found here in Abilene is at $3.69

Prices are up 10 cents from two weeks ago

Experts predict that the cost for fuel should reach the four dollar mark by this summer.
