Last night at approximately 6:00, Officer Darrin Ruiz was dispatched to a theft call at a business in the 3500 block of Catclaw Drive. A possible suspect was identified and a report for misdemeanor theft was taken. This investigation continues.
Last night at approximately 11:50, Officer Andrew Valdez contacted a male motorist in the 1900 block of North Mockingbird for a traffic violation. During his investigation he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and also observed a small plastic baggie containing an unknown white rock-like substance that the driver acknowledged was in the car. The vehicle was searched and the preliminary test of the substance located in the baggie tested positive for cocaine. The male suspect was arrested for possession of controlled substance; to wit cocaine.
