Yesterday afternoon at approximately 3:45, Officer Terrill Perkins contacted a male motorist in the 2500 block of North Judge Ely Boulevard after observing a traffic violation in a school zone. During his investigation he learned that the male subject had an outstanding felony bond forfeiture warrant for which he was arrested.

Last night at approximately 6:00, Officer Darrin Ruiz was dispatched to a theft call at a business in the 3500 block of Catclaw Drive. The reporting party advised APD that a woman ran out of the store with clothing without paying for it. The female suspect got into a waiting vehicle and fled the scene before police arrival. A possible suspect was identified and a report for misdemeanor theft was taken. This investigation continues.

Last night at approximately 11:50, Officer Andrew Valdez contacted a male motorist in the 1900 block of North Mockingbird for a traffic violation. During his investigation he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and also observed a small plastic baggie containing an unknown white rock-like substance that the driver acknowledged was in the car. The vehicle was searched and the preliminary test of the substance located in the baggie tested positive for cocaine.
