Abilenians Go Without Shoes for Cause

Many Abilenians spent today without shoes as part of an event created by Tom's Shoes.

The event is called "One Day Without Shoes," in which people go one day without shoes in order to raise awareness for children in less-fortunate countries who may not have shoes to wear.

Village Boutique in Abilene celebrated by giving a discount on Tom's Shoes for anyone who came into the store barefoot.

"We've had a lot more people coming in, coming in barefoot and getting some Tom's," says shoe manager Steve Martin.

Tom's Shoes has a policy of donating one pair of shoes to a needy child for every pair purchased.
