Western Texas College to Undergo Environmental Assessment

By: Snyder Daily News
Updated: April 11, 2012
Western Texas College trustees learned Monday night that the Environmental Protection Agency will be on-site to conduct a thorough assessment of the campus.

Dr. Mike Dreith, WTC president, noted that the EPA team will assess any potential environmental problems beginning April 18. Mike Thornton, chief operating officer, will handle the visit and coordinate any response needed to the EPA.

"As per an agreement with the federal EPA, the team will inspect the college and provide a report. WTC then has the obligation of correcting any potential problems without fear of fines," Dreith said.

The president said there are some environmental concerns around campus and this will help correct the situation. He did not note any specific concerns.
