ACU Students Petition to Bring Back 'Dead Day'

Updated: April 11, 2012
ACU has changed its finals schedule, and some students are not happy about it.

After complaints from students who had multiple finals on the same day, the university tried to fix the schedule to lighten the load.

This semester, the school has taken an extra study day known to students as "dead day" out of the schedule.

Although it is only a trial run this semester, some students are petitioning to bring it back.

"I'm hoping what can happen is we get into finals week that everybody's going to keep an open mind and go through this process once and let it play itself out, and then we'll look at it," says Registrar Bart Herridge. "If it doesn't work,  we'll go back. Or we'll come up with something else that does address the concerns that we had.

There is currently a petition out on Twitter, but the university says they would not change the schedule this late into the semester.
