Outbreak Of Life-Threatening Illnesses Have Wylie Residents On Alert

"I just don't think that that is for this small of a town to have that many children ill, there's something wrong," says Erin Schroeder.
There have been several reported cases of individuals contracting life-threatening illnesses in the Wylie area in recent years.
"Landry was diagnosed in 2009, March of 2009 with a brain tumor," explains Shannon Robinson.
Robinson's daughter had a recurrence in 2010, was on chemotherapy in 2011, and then had another recurrence in her brain in December of 2011.
"So we've been dealing with it for three years now," she continues.
The Robinsons were referred to a holistic clinic by another family whose daughter experienced a similar diagnosis.
"They had suspected that there's aluminum in the Abilene water, you know I don't know that for a fact," says Robinson.
However, the Robinsons felt that finding the cause of Landry's illness was definitely worth investigating.
"I can say Landry had a tissue analysis of her hair and her urine, that did show high levels of aluminum in her body," Robinson explains.
Landry is just one of several children in Wylie dealing with this mysterious cause and many doctors do not know exactly what it is.
Dr. Nicole Bullock says, "You know that's kind of what we see in the movies and all of a sudden some certain area has an outbreak of different type of cancer from radiation exposure. I haven't seen that."
Dr. Bullock may not have seen a case like this but families in the Wylie area say it is real, and has several of them concerned for their children's well being.
"I am a little concerned because the other day my daughter, my youngest, she just turned 11, she was saying she had a headache, and she's never said that to me before," Schroeder reveals.
While those in the Wylie area continue to search for answers, they will remain hopeful.
"There's probably more out there that we don't know about but we want to help them all and get them all well," says Schroeder.

It's about time someone started asking questions about whats going
on with so many people in that area having brain cancer.
