The Abilene Fire Department responded to a report of fire coming from a man's house this morning.

Crews arrived at a residence on Jeanette around 7:00 a.m. to find light smoke coming from the eaves of the home.

According to the report, personnel found fire in the wall of the bathroom that was running up the wall into the attic space.

They were able to quickly extinguish the fire and avoid any injuries.

The person who lives at the home reported that he had extinguished a fire himself under his carport around 3:00 in the morning, and did not call the fire department.

Damage was contained to the bathroom wall, but the extent of the damage had not been estimated at the time of the report.
