Yesterday at approximately 5:15 p.m., Officer Brian Poynor was dispatched to an intoxicated driver call in the 4300 block of South Clack Street. APD had been contacted by a concerned citizen who stated the male driver was very intoxicated. Officer Poynor located the suspect vehicle and attempted to contact the motorist. The motorist failed to initially pull over and committed several traffic violations. The motorist finally pulled over in the 4600 block of Danville Street. Officer Poynor's investigation revealed that the male driver had indicators of intoxication. The driver was given standard field sobriety tests which he failed. The suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The suspect refused to provide a breath sample.

Yesterday at approximately 5:35 p.m., Officer Robert Brannon was dispatched to a disturbance-in-progress call at a business in the 4400 block of Buffalo Gap Road. An off-duty deputy sheriff had notified APD that two females were arguing with each other. Officer Brannon contacted both females and learned that one of the subjects had assaulted the other by allegedly punching her. During his investigation it was also learned that the alleged assault suspect had an active felony warrant for criminal mischief. Officer Brannon also took a report for assault and that investigation continues.

Last night at approximately 10:16, APD was alerted to a burglary of a building in progress in the 700 block of Hickory Street. Sgt. Jason Haak responded to the call and located a suspect vehicle leaving the incident scene. Sgt. Haak was able to contact and stop the suspect vehicle in the 1700 block of North 12th Street. The male suspect was detained and subsequently positively identified by the witnesses as the burglar. Additionally, stolen property was recovered from inside the suspect vehicle. The suspect provided a false date of birth during the investigation. The suspect was arrested for felony burglary of a building and for failure to identify.
