"Saddle up to Celebrate Kids" was the theme as a crowd of about 500 children and adults braved the wind to show appreciation for the children of Eastland County at Eastland City Park on Saturday, April 14.

Kids Day in the Park has been held for four consecutive years providing a way for the community to honor children during Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month.

As in years past, all the activities and food were provided for by donations and were free to participants.

The children participated in game booths with prizes, a petting zoo, a K-9 dog, jump houses, pony rides, steer head roping, face painting, KATX live broadcast, crafts, musical chairs, and information booths.

Hot dogs and drinks were enjoyed by children and parents alike, from 11:00 am until about 1:30 pm.
